UPDATE: Access to visually/hearing impaired patrons

Assistive technology equipment for visually impaired customers has been installed at the four Regional Branches: Alief, Collier, Park Place and Scenic Woods. The following equipment and software were installed:

SARA® Scanning and Reading Appliance - Stand-alone OCR (Optical Character Recognition)
Dragon Naturally Speaking Pro
JAWS® Professional Screen Reader v8.0 for Window https://hplnet.hpl.lib.tx.us/depts-it.html

Stella Link, is the only branch with designated computer terminals with Zoom Text installed for people who are visually impaired.

Only the hardware is available @ Montrose (i.e.: reading machines and CCTV). Before referring customers to Montrose, please find out the type of service they need.
CEN still has the DVS videos on the 1st floor. HPL services for the hearing impaired have been an assigned ASL interpreter, Kemo curry at CEN.
